Shotzi is in beta in Greenville, South Carolina. Bookings are arranged by a person rather than an app, there are a small number of Sidekicks, and there will be times we cannot fill a booking. Everything below is written on that basis.
1. Who we are
Shotzi is a South Carolina company based in Greenville. We connect people who want a moment photographed with independent local creators we call Sidekicks. We are a platform, not a photography studio, and Sidekicks are independent contractors rather than our employees.
2. Money, and the one rule that matters
You pay once, when you book, for the amount shown before you confirm. Nothing is added afterwards. Not for travel, not for parking, not for extra frames, not for anything else. If a price changes it changes on our pricing page, in public, before you book.
A Sidekick is only dispatched after payment has cleared. That protects you, because nobody turns up expecting money on the day, and it protects the Sidekick, because they are never asked to work on a promise.
Refunds and cancellations

Weather, illness and genuine emergencies are handled like adults. Contact us and we will move the booking rather than argue about a clause.
3. Who owns the photographs
You do. When a Sidekick shoots for you, the finished photographs and video are yours. You can post them anywhere, print them, use them for your business, and you do not need our permission or a credit.
Your Sidekick may only use your photographs in their own portfolio if you say yes. We ask you once, plainly, after delivery. If you say no, or you do not answer, the answer is no.
We keep a copy of your gallery for 90 days so you can download it again, then we delete it. Download what you want to keep.
4. Booking a session
- You must be 18 or over to book, and you are responsible for anyone in your group.
- Tell us if the location is private property you do not control. Some venues do not allow photography and that is between you and them.
- If anyone in your photographs is under 18, you confirm you are their parent or guardian or have that person's permission.
- A Sidekick can end a booking early and still be paid in full if they are threatened, harassed, asked to do something unsafe, or asked to do something outside what was booked.
- We can refuse or cancel a booking if we believe somebody's safety is at risk.
5. Working as a Sidekick
You must be 18 or over. There is no version of this for under 18 and no parental consent route.
- You are an independent contractor, not an employee. You set your own availability, you see the payout before you accept anything, and you can decline any booking without it counting against you.
- You supply your own equipment, transport and insurance, and you are responsible for your own taxes.
- You are free to work for anybody else, including our competitors, and we will never ask you not to.
- You keep 70% of every session, paid after the gallery is delivered.
- You must pass an identity check, a criminal background check and a review of your work before your first booking. We pay for those.
- You deliver finished photographs using the Shotzi preset, not raw files. That is part of the job and it is already in your 70%.
- You must not drink alcohol or use anything impairing during a booking.
- Keep communication inside our systems, and do not take a customer's details to arrange work privately.
- We can remove you from the platform if you are unsafe, dishonest, repeatedly late, or repeatedly below standard.
6. What we are not responsible for
We will always try to make a bad experience right, and the refund table above is how we do that. Beyond it, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
We are not liable for indirect losses: a moment that cannot be repeated, a missed opportunity, or the value you placed on photographs that did not come out as hoped. Photography is a craft with an element of chance, and nobody can promise otherwise.
Sidekicks are independent contractors. We check them carefully, but we do not control how they work, and we are not responsible for their acts beyond our own role in connecting you.
7. Housekeeping
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts of Greenville County.
- If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects a booking you have already paid for, the terms as they were when you booked apply.
- If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
